Shiplap, double waterfall counters, oakwashed wide plank wood flooring and glass front cabinetry have all become staples in the homes we design because of their transformative power and timeless appeal.

Each project we work on with our clients begins with their vision for their space and the needs the new design must meet. We create schematics and rough sketches to give their vision a voice which becomes colors, textures, patterns and finishes on a mood board and our collaborative kickoff begins.

Kitchens have long been the heart of the home but the pandemic brought the family back to the kitchen in new ways. We have helped many of our clients embrace this space, not in its old utilitarian form, but as the love-centered fun space it has become for family homes today.

Our passion for changing spaces isn't defined by the size of the project, but by the needs of our clients. With the success of many high-rise condominiums across the valley we have shaped many condo spaces our clients call home. A few of the buildings we have designed in are; The Vitri in Scottsdale Quarter, The Optima Kierland, Broadstone in Scottsdale Quarter, Montreaux in Desert Ridge and Optima Camelview.

While remodel project after project has churned out White subway tile backsplashes, Gray walls and Quartz countertops, we peppered our interior projects with calming and uplifting colors. White can be stark and come off as cold and uninviting when there isn't enough of an opposing color balance. Creme, Sand, Charcoal, Sienna and Taupe/Green are timeless colors we masterfully remix in small and large interior spaces alike.

Urban inspired spaces really come to life when natural finishes marry industrial tones. Texture, pattern, dimensional tiles and unconventional lighting all lend a hand in celebrating the male inspired spaces we have designed over the past couple of years. Our clients have loved the juxtaposition of lighter colors in the primary rooms and darker tones in powder rooms and laundry rooms. We have a creative process for color coding an interior space that results in a home as unique as your fingerprint.

Whether city-chic or cozy comfy suburb, this look remains a winner with our clients. Wood, metal, pattern and textured pieces all warm up a light environment where too much white would make it hard to be comfortable in. Scotch guarding the primary seating pieces, using wipeable paint and low maintenance surfaces has made living easy again and new clients have asked for a remix of this style over and over.

When clients come to us with a need to punch up the interiors of their condos or townhomes we often break the rules of interior design to achieve their best spaces. Apartment, condos and townhome layouts can come with oddly shaped rooms, limited wall space, condensed utilitarian areas and not enough natural light filtering in. This doesn't always mean White, Cream or Ecru are go-to colors to enlarge the space but what it does mean is we have to be more intentional and fill the space without giving it the appearance of over abundance.

Who doesn't love a spacious backyard with plenty of room to expand. But not all homes have oversized lots they can take advantage of. Patio homes, villas and townhome living often come with a more demur outdoor space. Being a native New Yorker myself, I grew up in small spaces.This generated a heightened creativity, I believe would come to enhance how I would view spaces later in life. I believe bold, unique and audacious outdoor spaces make small areas really stand out. The open weave seating and table puts this small enclosure on a spacious scale. The affixed wall bench expands the seating possibilities for guest, the imagined concrete adds low maintenance and the succulent borders, planter pots and foliage make this a space to enjoy no matter the size.

Smart homes made news nearly 10 years ago when Jeff Bezos created Alexa. But the truth is, we fashioned the very first smart house in Arizona in the year 2000. This is the master retreat in our Smart Home.

Arizona Home & Design featured our clients home in a 7-page spread in their magazine in 2008. By that time many of the original finishes and designs we incorporated into the home were being used by more designers and contractors. Inclusions like the pivot door, irridescent tiles, wall lighting fixtures shining down over counters and the newness of floating fireplaces. Our client who we designed this home for is an electronic inventor. His electronic creations are what advanced our ability to create a Smart Home that proved to be timeless.

Our client wanted a real retreat in his ensuite. He loves darker tones and lots of natural stones. To define the bathroom without making it feel encapsulated, we limited the deep charcoal custom paint to the vanity area in the bathroom while keeping the rest light and luxurious. These are the only cabinets in the world painted with Mercedes Benz CLK paint. We approached Mercedes Benz about using the paint color from our client's favorite car, and after 2 months of negotiating, BASF (the makers of MB's paint) gave us the approval to use the paint. All the cabinetry in the home was constructed and painted in Canada and shipped to Arizona for installation in the home.

Designing this home was one of our most passionate adventures. The home was later featured on HGTV's Top 10 Kitchens in America show, it was a 7-page featured article in Arizona Home & Design magazine, I received the Arizona Entrepreneur award and a featured interview in Arizona Business Magazine, several Best of Show home tour awards and the cover of Designer Style resource magazine.

One of our client's passions was professional race car driving, and after a long day on the track his one request from us was that we install a deep soaking tub that could support his 6'2" frame. We custom designed this 30 jet tub, which required elevating in order to accomodate it's depth.

Arizona pivoted from Southwest styles to modern contemporary interiors in 2010 and interiors were reshaped to accomodate expanded doors, window walls and an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. When our clients called and said they purchased a Rio Verde home and wanted the home to retain its Southwest flair, we were excited to discuss their vision. We gutted the home to the slab & rebuilt it to suit their love of the great southwest.

Notable:

The 100" TV screen hadn't arrived in time for this magazine photoshoot.so the wall is vacant. It was later installed over the wooden wallpaper at the back of the room.

How cool would life be if we could live it in Black and White.

That's what our cleints said. Professional photographers in their work life, they wanted their home environment to be a part of what they love so much. We were given a crash course on cameras, reels and darkroom photo developing and then set out to make Black & White living a reality for our dear clients and friends.

When we completed their project they smiled at each other and said,

it's "picture perfect!"
