Filling our homes this year will be color, color & more color!
That's not to say calm, relaxing & ohhh I loovvee my house goes out the window, it just means Beige and White should expect company. All colors have a psychological and emotional impact on our attitude. Designers pepper homes with colors, based on what the inhabitants want to experience. The psychological effect of the color Blue, is cold & standoffish. If you're celebrating Blues this season, here's a few things you can do to embrace this amazing color and make it work in all the right ways in your home. 1. Combine Yellow & White with your favorite color Blue furniture. The Yellow and White can be introduced in the form of accessories, pillows, a rug.... 2. Fill the mass of the room's space (walls, floor, furniture) with a primary color like Beige. Then filter in Blue artwork, vases, draperies, planters and more, to make the room a real show-stopper. Remember to mix the tones of the Blue Hues you utilize, vs only using one consistent color of Blue. Blues that have a splash or Purple, Black, Red & Gray look the best when mixed with a neutral palette. 3. Hello Monochrome! Now this is where I get excited!! The color Blue can range from the Black side of the color wheel to the lightest palest White on the opposite end. If you opt for this very Avant-Garde approach, be certain to use lots of metal & glass for your accessories, lighting, tables, consoles, and the like. And when you drop in a soft-light colored rug to finish the space, this may very well become your most favorite room in the house. Pssst. If you're secretly crushing on the 'silver hand' deco piece on the shelf, MOOR | ROOM carries it in their accessories line. Remember to tell 'em I sent you and use CODE: bond25 for a sweet discount. Happy decorating!
